WHO BENEFITS

CAREGIVERS ' clients are a vulnerable segment of the population.  They are older than 60 and have chronic aging problems that are causing decreased mobility and loss of control over their lives.  Most live alone and are in financial need.  They cannot afford to pay for help.  They are unseen and forgotten.

However, with a relatively small amount of assistance (just 2 to 4 hours) per week, our frail, elderly clients can continue to live at home with dignity and independence. The help and companionship of a CAREGIVERS’ volunteer increases their confidence and self esteem and significantly improves their quality of life.

Since 1984, CAREGIVERS has provided nearly 3,000 frail, homebound, older Ventura County residents with one-on-one personal help and friendship, some for as long as 10 years.
